Drop Extra Pounds With Appetite Curbing Healthy Foods

By Frank Brown

Sometimes difficult to carry out, the theory behind losing weight is rather simple-- burn more calories than you take in. To lose one pound a week, for example, you must eat 500 calories less per day than you are currently eating.

In fact our bodies do not require too many calories to survive. In fact, scientists have discovered that the human body can go two to three weeks without food before it dies. Exactly what makes weight loss difficult, however, is the fact that our bodies will trick us straight into supposing that we're starving, even though we're having around a lot of extra body fat that could be digested right into energy.

Don't get me wrong -- urge for food really does serve a purpose. With an ideal-weight people, being hungry is the cue to absorb way more extra calories, because they will very soon be required to continue essential life functions. An overweight woman / man does not necessarily would need all of these calories, though, and the desire for food mainly tricks us into believing that we do.

Fortunately, certain foods we eat can actually suppress the appetite, make us feel fuller longer and, as a result, cause us to eat less.

Shed Extra Pounds by consuming Appetite Controlling Foods

As a general rule, foods high in fiber will make you feel fuller longer because their bulkiness will stretch the stomach and trigger the body's appetite suppression system. Apples, for example, are a great example of a fiber-rich food that makes us feel full. Oatmeal is also full of fiber and, even though it contains carbohydrates, those "good" carbs will help you feel less hungry. Nuts and seeks, like pine nuts and flax seeds, also trick the body into thinking we are fuller than we really are.

Not necessarily a "food", simply drinking a full glass of water prior to a meal will suppress the appetite, take up room and result in a lower caloric intake. This is also true for green tea leaf extract, due to the fact that it stimulates the release of a hormone contributing to curbing of your appetite and is believed to also boost the metabolic process.

And also, last but not least, folks having a sweet tooth will be very happy to discover that dark chocolate works as a wight lost aid because the bitterness serves as a all-natural appetite suppressant.
