A Closer Look At Some Back Pain Causes

By James Steele

Back pain is a very common and very troublesome symptom that has many possible causes. It seems that these days we are more apt to suffer from back problems because of the time spent slumped over our computers or sitting in front of the television. Exercise can help, but exercising the wrong way can cause back pain too.

A consideration that many people do not make in regard to their back pain is that their mobile device could be causing it. Many people do not realize that laptops and smart phones can also cause younger people to have back issues early on in life. Devices such as these are not actually causing physical damage. It's the way we use them, which is often in uncomfortable positions. The way that you're back becomes injured is through repetitious motion, constantly bending over your laptop to communicate or holding your mobile device in such a way that it causes a strain. It really is only over time that we can correlate the fact that the use of our electronic devices is what is causing our back pain to not only occur, but get worse as time progresses.

Anyone that owns a backpack, briefcase, or carries their laptop or notebook computer in a bag may suffer from back pain because of the way they carry it. It is not about just how much weight the object is, but the way that you carry it with you. A prime example of how this can affect many women is that some of them carry their purse on one side more than the other. It is possible to lighten your load to make things better. Suitcases are another potential hazard. Use one that rolls over one that you have to carry. Today, many people are using bags and cases that can be rolled for everyday use, as it's a lot easier on your back than carrying everything around.

Anyone that has a lot of stress in their daily life can suffer from back pain. When you're tense, your muscles are also tense. Each person will have a different reaction to stress in their lives, which may develop as a backache, stiff neck, or an ailment somewhere else on the body. It's best to learn to release stress so it doesn't cause any physical symptoms. Throughout your body, stress can cause inflammation due to high levels of the hormone cortisol being released. To prevent stress from reaching these levels, you need to acknowledge that you are experiencing the stress that you feel. Stress has also been shown to sustain injuries that would otherwise heal much more quickly, which is another reason that you should get rid of the stress that bothers you.

Degenerative disc disease is caused primarily by the degeneration of our discs as we get older. There are other types of illnesses that are not as familiar that may befall us as we age, that can also result in back ache. There are answers to these issues; just remember to take on a good exercise regimen and take the necessary vitamins to maintain crucial bone density. Many different things can put a strain on your spine, and eventually this can lead to back pain. Sometimes a medical issue can cause the problem, or exercising or moving in the wrong way. If you're in doubt about why you have back pain, it's always best to get your doctor's advice. Just focus upon what your doctor tells you to do, and continue to accomplish the things that will keep your back healthy and pain free.
